Insurdata
HIGH-RESOLUTION & PERIL-SPECIFIC
FIXING FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS
The re/insurance industry relies upon exposure data that is not fit for purpose.
Underwriting decisions are based on aggregated data as individual risks cannot be accurately identified. Geocoded information is unreliable, and vital attribute data, such as first-floor elevation, doesn’t exist.
Insurdata has created technology to solve this problem. Their proof of concept projects with SCOR and Katrisk showed the material impact Insurdata technology has on modelled loss estimates.
Insurtech Gateway participated in Insurdata’s $3m Seed round in April 2019. The company was acquired by Big Ticket Inc in 2022.
PROBLEM
The insurance industry’s data is not good enough.
Solution
Use the highest resolution exposure data to optimise pricing, underwriting and risk assessment decisions. Peril-specific attribute data maximises core risk management. Get relevant data where it is needed most at any point in the re/insurance chain.

“There have been a few Gateway moments already! One striking one was standing in the stormy sea, fully suited and booted, for publicity photos. Not an everyday occurrence at Insurdata, but the Gateway are always pushing the boundaries to make extraordinary things happen, and that is why we love working with them!”
